Thats great, thanks for making the file available once again.

On this same subject, wondered if someone could give me some idea of how to “open” the following basic model.

The example file at the start of this thread shows an album that flips over, easy enough, but the album itself only consists of simple plane objects.

Id like some ideas please on how to flip over a model with a bit more depth to it, in order to make the whole animation look more realistic. I can handle the animation side of things but am confused about how to achieve this effect with a thicker model.

Heres a link to an image which explains what Im trying to do:

Ive tried to do this using bones, and the bend deformer but with no joy. I could make seperate models for each part and rotate them, but the thick outer on the album would seperate and look wierd!

    Thanks guys.

Great example!! I came right on time for me.
I’m an editor making his first steps into 3D after filming my uncle’s wedding.
I wanted to include a 3D “wedding book” in their video to tie the piece together and to experiment at making interesting transitions between sequences. I was not able to get something I like with AE fake 3D,
so I turned to C4D which I only started to learn a few weeks ago.
I’m a terrible modeler so my plan was to find a model and try to do the animation, unfortunately even on sites like turbosquid and others I could not find a model for C4D that has actual pages and a “middle opening” for me to try to animate.

This file shows great animation but I was trying to get a more old fashioned ‘thick’ book that I could have come on screen closed and then open from the middle and then flip a few pages in a ‘fairy tale’ style.

Do you think I could apply this animation inside a bigger model? Any idea where I could find an ‘animatable old style book model’? Did anybody go thru what I’m trying to accomplish before? Any advice, help, scene files?

And since I often see a lot of people asking for help and not “giving it back” I promess to share my final project to the community (including the following compositing steps in AE and Avid to get the final edit style) afterwards.

    Thanks in advance,

    Arno

    Hey Arno,

Did you ever get your old-style book sequence done? Its funny how I land on this post years later but i am doing a similar project. I was told to use Invigorator Pro but Im wondering if it wouldnt be easier in Cinema 4D!

How did you end up doing yours?
