Would I have better success with a Duel adapter? Or is the PCD35 really the only option?

Yup, I am bringing an external drive.
That’s a great suggestion about booting from the external drive. Does that mean I’ll have to install all my software on the external drive including the OS?

Found the solution on the apple forums.. Michael, you were part of the way there. Thanks for the help!

ike I outlined above, finish editing your show in the timeline with your current DVCPro50 seq settings so that you retain all the real time benefits etc.

When you’ve locked your final cut then go into your seq settings and change the compressor in the drop down menu to Uncompressed 10bit. Then render the timeline and export the finished show using FILE>EXPORT QUICK TIME MOVIE, use Current Settings. make sure you dont use FILE> EXPORT USING QUICK TIME CONVERSION.
Your text and graphics should look nice and sharp/crisp.

I tried to render out my after effects animation as 10-bit uncompressed, and then put it in a 10-bit uncompressed final cut sequence.. but still the result was exactly the same.

Other suggestions?

Could it be that the logos have too fine lines for NTSC to interpret? I doubt it because the clip plays perfectly in quicktime and in the viewer but not on my sequence..

Hi, thanks for the responses.

This screengrab is from a rendered sequence and it is set to 100% size.
This video is mainly meant for web output, so I don’t think an NTSC monitor help the problem.

That being said, any other ideas?

I’ve attached a second screengrab of the same clip in the viewer after double clicking it from the project window and it appears perfectly. I know it is squashed but as soon as I drag it into the sequence it gets jagged as in the above image, whether the aspect ratio is at 0 or 33.33.

Michael, you mentioned that DV (dvcpro50) is not a good codec to use.. what would be a better option? I’ve made hundreds of videos using this workflow, and I’ve never had this problem..
