My suggestion would… in log and transfer, go to your prefs (a small drop down in the middle on top, and then unselect remove duplicate frames…)

    Good luck!

April 2, 2010 at 4:21 am in reply to: HVX200 Transfer times very slow

I finally got the chance to test out the different options for transferring.
Tests were done on a 16gb e-series card with 20:40 of footage shot at 720 30pn.

    Firewire400: 9:10
    USB 2.0: 5:56
    Duel Adapter: 4:20

If we multiply that out to 3 hours of footage for example..

    Firewire400: 82 min
    USB 2.0: 54 min
    Duel Adapter: 39 min

Thank you all for your help and advice!

    Hey Steve,

What format are you recording with that is giving you the 1:1 results?
I assume by 1:1, you mean a 10-minute file is taking 10 minute to transfer?

    Thanks!

Wow! This is so depressing! I don’t understand how a duel adapter using a expresscard slot is more or less equal in speed to FW400?

I’m going to meet with a rental company later today to find out some options for my trip. It would be a huge shame to get back from filming at midnight and then spend the next 5 hours transferring footage only to make up at 7 and film again.

I’ll keep you posted with my findings later today.

The documentation seems a bit inconsistent with regards to the PCD35. In some places it says

“A new five slot P2 solid state memory drive with an ExpressCard interface that will dramatically increase simultaneous access to P2 content on ExpressCard equipped notebook or desktop computers.”

This would be fine because I have an expresscard equipped macbook pro.

However, in other places it says

“Panasonic’s AJ-PCD35 Memory Card Drive is a P2 drive with a PCI Express interface. It connects to a Windows PC or Mac with the supplied board”

That is an other story, I macbook pros do not have a PCI express interface…

    so…. what’s the deal?
