    Hi,

In my comp (image attached) I have a bunch of light. Three spot lights pointing down towards the pool, and six point lights and one parallel light. The problem I am having is that my roof looks disjointed from the back wall. I think this is because the lighting looks so different on one versus the other. I can’t manage to get the lighting to match on both… not sure why. Why would it be that the roof layer (rotated 90 degrees in 3d) is not getting lit up the way the back wall is..

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks!!

you can adjust how lights interact with a 3d layer in the layer’s material options, and you may be able to get them to match better.

you might try setting the ceiling and wall to not accept lights and just fake the lighting on the back wall and the ceiling with gradients. or to get more control, precomp the floor and ceiling layers separately (leave all attributes) and use other ramp/gradient layers and blending modes to get exactly what you want.

Thanks Kevin, I’ll give that a try.
