THANKS!.
I’ll try the script later on.
The AutoDuck – is very expensive!! costs like the hole NLE program! 😀
what about the traditional work flow?
Just export uncompressed QT to AEand then importing final video to FCP?
which formats are recommended? It will be great to hear from ppl that use AE with FCP.

October 26, 2009 at 1:58 pm in reply to: New to FCP – starting a 55min film – need tips to work with HDVThank you very much!
I will report in the next few days after I’ll build my rig.
I understand that you can’t give guarantees for my rig – but I didn’t ask for them.
Thats why I wanted to ask you to consult as if you were consulting a Mac pro user.
And how a mac Pro user should relate to working with DVCpro HD.All Apple supported external Hardware works out of the box with Hackintosh.
As the PCI-E it depends but please let me worry about that – I have other places and forums to check for HW compatibility. But before that – I need to know which HW to check and examine.
Thats why I wanted your experienced help.If I want to use external monitor for displaying the image from sequence. which card would you recommend?
I currently have to LCD displays:
20″ DELL 2007 & 24″ DELL 2407WFPIs there an option in FCP to send a full display image to a hole monitor?
(Premiere has this option).Thanks again.

October 26, 2009 at 12:59 pm in reply to: New to FCP – starting a 55min film – need tips to work with HDVOK, first of all, thanks for replaying.
Please disregard the fact that I run hackintosh.
My system is rock solid – and all Apple Hardware is working great on my rig – So please leave the compatibility issues for me…
So if you may, please guide me as if I had a Mac Pro.
You said:
DVCPro HD runs on a standard Mac with no additional hardware necessary.
So basically what your saying is that I will not need any hardware to run it smoothly?
Applying effects? rendering? Color correcting?
would you recommend any card to boost performance \ rendering\ optional display out maybe?
Thanks again!

I’m having the exact same thing after having installed a new GTX285 (before I had ATI X1950XT)
What to do?

July 27, 2009 at 11:53 pm in reply to: GTX285 â–„ Quadro FX/CX â–„ Matrox RT.X2 – Which is better?!WOW!
Thank yo so much for that reply!(Magic Bullet comes to mind) are real-time preview on my Quadro cards…
I want to cry! I use them a lot but I find it hard to tweak and the render takes ages (specialy the look suites)!!!
So according to what you say OPENGL plugins like Red Giant will work real time on PPRO and AFTER effects?! amazing! 😀
Will the render be faster? or will it just boost up the preview workflow and the compositing process only? Now let me ask this, GTX285 has the same if not better specs than Quadros 4800\CX –
will GTX285 also give this great results when using OPENGL?
Is it all just a matter of Drivers?!
IF GTX285 will give significant poor results in comparison to the Quadros than It comes down to Quadro CX vs FX 4800about the DISPLAYPORT I have two DVI mons:
20″ Dell 2007FP & 24″ Dell 2407WFP
I’ll be using a converter to DVI I guess – is Displayport better than DVI?The only difference between the 4800 and the CX was the inclusion of the encoder, as you pointed out.
the CX costs a few hundred $ more.. and I dont use HD yet – nor h264 Codec…
Also I read that the RapiHD codec is very limited to presets…So I don’t need this feature.
Question is, though –
is this the only thing? maybe Adobe will lunch CS5 that will work better with CX? or its all the same because of the OpenGL issue abbilities which are the same in both cards – correct me if I’m wrong.٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶

YUP
I already tried to render a copy (while Im working on a new version file of the project
AE PR were still open
It worked well didn’t feel change of performance (4 cores) somewhere around 60% of CPU usage…The file was rendered – but it rendered it with the composition settings no motion blur – layers at draft etc…
I’m not sure if I can set the settings like in AE to best settings etc…
BTW
Of topic question
if I want to export WAV from PPro CS4 but not use the Encoder – which takes a long time to move the project into the queue etc – if I just want to export it from inside PPRO it would be a lot faster!
especially when working on heavy projects!IS THERE A WAY?
exporting WAV and Pictures shouldt be so tedious to export!
what do you say?٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶

Something very weird is happening:
When I try to render AE comp in Adobe media encoder.
I choose the composition and it adds itself to the queue.
but when I try to press “settings” to change the format settings – its takes almost 2 minutes to open this dialog.
(check out my rig in my signature – its not a slow machine)Its a big project I know – but still…
Also my question about working on AE and Premiere while the Adobe media encoder is rendering my AE project.
I’m afraid it will make AE unstable and make it crash or damage the project etc…
should I worry?
😀thanks again man!
