Is there a way to auto upload a project after long render..

I want to go to sleep send the render – and it auto upload it to a FTP or website

So… is the an option like this in AE CS4?

You surely can. Just use the Adobe Media Encoder to do the render rather than the AE render queue. In that you can specify your FTP details.

    Hope that helps,
    Ben

Just open Media Encoder, choose File > Add After Effects Composition, navigate to your AE project and pick the comp you need.

Then it’s just a case of setting up your settings and you’re good to go.

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Something very weird is happening:

When I try to render AE comp in Adobe media encoder.

I choose the composition and it adds itself to the queue.

but when I try to press “settings” to change the format settings – its takes almost 2 minutes to open this dialog.
(check out my rig in my signature – its not a slow machine)

    Its a big project I know – but still…

Also my question about working on AE and Premiere while the Adobe media encoder is rendering my AE project.

I’m afraid it will make AE unstable and make it crash or damage the project etc…

    should I worry?
    😀

    thanks again man!

It’s actually quite normal for this to take a while, especially if it’s a large project.

I’ve never tried to render out a project with Media Encoder whilst working on the same project in AE. My feeling tells me that it wouldn’t be the world’s greatest idea. If you’re that eager to keep working, then why not save out a copy of the project and render that in the background. I honestly don’t even know how great the work experience in AE is going to be with Media Encoder chugging on simultaneously. But there’s only one way to find out… and you can decide yourself whether you find that performance acceptable or not.

    All the best,
    Ben

    YUP
I already tried to render a copy (while Im working on a new version file of the project
    AE PR were still open
It worked well didn’t feel change of performance (4 cores) somewhere around 60% of CPU usage…

The file was rendered – but it rendered it with the composition settings no motion blur – layers at draft etc…

I’m not sure if I can set the settings like in AE to best settings etc…

    BTW
    Of topic question
if I want to export WAV from PPro CS4 but not use the Encoder – which takes a long time to move the project into the queue etc – if I just want to export it from inside PPRO it would be a lot faster!
especially when working on heavy projects!

    IS THERE A WAY?
exporting WAV and Pictures shouldt be so tedious to export!
    what do you say?

I believe that the Encoder just takes the current comp settings with no way to automatically bump it up to best/no proxies/motion blur etc. So you need to remember to turn the appropiate switchs on (or off!).

I’ve got nothing constructive to add to the PPro issue :o) I agree, it shouldn’t be that tedious.

Adobe Media Encoder is really crappy (IMHO)…Sorenson Squeeze offers a FTP function, and it can do a watch folder. So basically, render your project to a folder. Have Sorenson watch that folder with an output module. Once render is finished…it will transcode and upload. I’ve used that workflow for years and it’s very solid.

Hi guys, I know this is an old thread, but perhaps you can help me, I’m trying to do exactly what this thread is about, render a comp from After Effects and have it upload automatically overnight so I don’t have to wait. I’ve done in the past a million times, mostly from Premiere, but also from AE.

However this time something weird is happening, the comp is being displayed on AME without a bunch of 3D features that I added in After Effects, for example, shadows and the color cast that the lights are causing, everything should look yellowish but when I look at it in the preview window in AME it looks pale as the original footage is, the shadows are nowhere to be found.

I’m using CS5 on a mac, I don’t think this issue is hardware related but for what is worth I have a Mac quadcore running Snow Leopard with 16gb.

Can somebody help me to fix this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
