I had a similar issue with AE that I could NOT figure out and then I watched a Resolve tutorial and the drone footage was done in ten minutes!

Yeah, it’s good but a bit jumpy in the eyebrows. I would like to see a tutorial if possible because you can always tweak these things.

FWIW I learned how to do this in fusion with some pretty great results, though not as perfect as I think it can be with AE pins

I’m wondering if I can stabilize ALL four corners of these printouts that I turn into animation. As you can see, I can only do two corners which works for the most part but it would be a dream if I could lock down all four of them to get the image as stable as possible.

I should have been clearer. I’m not actually looking to make it like a book at all. In fact, forget I said “book”. I basically want the footage to fold in half. I want it to start flat and then fold down the middle so that you can no longer see it.

Ah yeah I finally just did it, not sure what was going on

For some reason I cannot remember how to do this, but I would always make a Comp of footage I had with strong contrast added so that it would show up in the layer window when I rotobrushed and after I roto, I would freeze it, then undo the contrast so it grabs the edges better.

The motion tracking abilities in Resolve are hands down the best I’ve ever come across, though Fusion had always been a blind spot for me, I’m going to lean into it more and more so I can get off the Adobe teat for good.

This is going to sound crazy but since I edit in Resolve and after enough headbanging w AE and Mocha, etc, I said, let me just look up a Fusion tutorial and try because why the hell not. I literally figured it out and it looks great in under 15 minutes! I attached the final result.

I have a clip that is an absolute nightmare, and I tried a few things but it’s not working.

The shot has so many value changes and even some weird tinting the jumps in and out.

How would you approach this? I’m okay with keyframing every frame if need be I’m just not sure what to do.

Hello, I’m motion tracking a still to cover up the actors blink and I noticed when the still moves, it blurs which I don’t want.

There must be some motion blur setting that I’m unaware of.

Otherwise, it looks like this, and I can’t see anything underneath all of the tracker points.

Sometimes when I need to manually move the tracker window, I need to see where the point is sitting more clearly, so I click on the box and it enlarges. Is there a way to get it to stay enlarged so I can go through the entire clip without having to constantly click on the box?

This is very strange.

If I export a file from After Effects and bring it back in, I’ve noticed the way it handles color, it’ll shift tints ever so slightly on random frames.

I noticed some of my clips would have a slight, faint, very infrequent strobing of tint because of this.

For the life of me, I cannot remember how I used to add contrast to a layer then pre comp and I was able to roto that version, then freeze the roto work and remove the contrast. For some reason, each time I take it to the layer level the contrast is not on there.

Any advice for how to do this properly would be much appreciated!

After Effects 2021 is not allowing me to save. I haven’t been able to save, save a copy or any other work around. I’m afraid I’ll lose a day of work.

I am on After Effects 18.2.0 Build 37 on a Mac Pro running Big Sur 11.4.

At the top it still says “Untitled Project *”

Any idea with what’s going on?

So the page turn works perfect but the mosaic isn’t giving me the result I need. I think it’s because random pieces slowly disappear in the original. Any other ideas?

The part where it rolls in like a page from a book, then when it ends and dissolves into little pieces.

I have a piece of text that I want to run through the RedGiant VHS effect, the only problem is, the effect happens to the empty alpha too and I just want to mess with the text so I can match it to existing VHS footage.

I have an XML that opens up just the sound files, edited for time the way the company wants. Only issue is, I have no idea how to quickly sync up the video with this audio now that the audio is in the timeline.
