  • How can I add an effect to a comp layer?

For some reason I cannot remember how to do this, but I would always make a Comp of footage I had with strong contrast added so that it would show up in the layer window when I rotobrushed and after I roto, I would freeze it, then undo the contrast so it grabs the edges better.

I cannot for the life of me, recall how to do this. Each time I click on the comp to go to layer it gives me the raw, untouched image.

when you pre-comped the footage with the contrast, or whatever, effect, did the effect go into the precomp or stay on the comp?

I just gave it a go and worked as expected
