no unusual names, just letters and numbers. no reel numbers either. but all the files are there.

the video is in place, just the EDL has reverted to a time way back in the post production?

The only thing i can imagine having done that may effect this (and i could be wrong) I changed some to AEs disk cache settings after AE refused to auto trace some composite work, the auto suggestion had me changin the cache settings (to no avail) But that is another story i guess….

    fair enough!

firstly I don’t have a dog, so we can rule that one out!

basically i finnished a sequence XDCAM 1080 on my 8 core mac in FCP 6.06
I exported it using compressor and made a H.264 file of the finnished product for delivery. A week passes, I re-open the project to copy and paste some effects. and it is like it has stepped back in time to when it was half made. it is a composite piece and art is not in place, music is not there. all the original art and files are still on my HDD but it is like the EDL has lost a pile of render files. I tried restoring it with no luck.

this time i have an already made back up, but it would kill me if it happened to a project that i was just about finnished.

Thanks for the responses, that is quite an in depth reply, actually due to other deadlines i haven’t done much with this. But i will be getting around to it soon. Ill post up my results.

Actually I haven’t been able to get wirecast to recognise my camera. (EX-3) the cables i have are all 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cables. should i be using something else?

control c on the clip you want to copy.

then highlight all the other clips you want to copy, right click. and paste attributes.

    very simple.

the problem is probably not the software but the user permission on your disks and the relationship between Qmaster and your OS.

I had HUGE trouble a while back with compressor and my old G5. There is a lot of information on the net regarding it. I did several reinstalls of all my software, The problem was eventually sorted by creating new users account and operating everything under that new account.

I can’t say if this will fix your problem, But there was quite a problem with compressor in the past for many people.

  • Ha! you are right.

  • I have noticed the same thing, And it doesnt seem to have rhyme or reason. one sequence i noticed it in EX CAM codec. Switched to pro res and all was fine. Another sequence (different project) the reverse happened.

    I am using 6.06 and 10.5.8
