  • How to copy and paste text attribute?

Posted by Newton Niu on January 6, 2010 at 2:52 am

    Hi, everyone!

I’ve finished doing all the text for my video, but now I want to change their sizes and positions.
I think it is possible that i change one of them, and then paste attributes to others.

But how to do that? When i click command C and option V to another test clip, there are several choices such as motion, speed, but none of them seems work.

How to do that, please, guys?

    Thank you.

You asked the EXACT same question yesterday on the FCP Basics forum, and I’m sure you saw the responce because you replied to it. Shane who answered you knowes his stuff.

It looks to me that you just didn’t like the answer so you posted again.

control c on the clip you want to copy.

then highlight all the other clips you want to copy, right click. and paste attributes.

    very simple.

Well, sorry for that… Thank Shane very much for his answer, but that really doesn’t help, and no other people answer it there. So, i just posted it here to seek more answers.
Please excuse me for that. I just want to find a solution.

    Sorry..

Thank you, but that only helps with motion, filter, speed, etc., but for font size? No.

I remember reading that you can do this with the XML. Globally changing font characteristics.
I Can’t remember how exactly, but you might be able to find something online.

Sorry i don’t have more info.

I can understand your frustration, but not liking an answer does not mean that if you ask the question again that the answer is going to change.

There is a reason Shane has his head floating above the FCP forum, he knows his stuff.

I think you may be able to do this with Traffic from xmedit.com.

I believe “title exchange” has an XML editor that allows for global change of font and font size, but I have never used it myself.
