Make sure Encore interpretes the footage correct. Rightclick on the clip in the project window.
Make a folder or image and burn the first time on a rewriteble, so avoiding several placemates.

Set scale to fit framesize or make your project the same size as your Fraps footage.

Copy dvd to hard disk, rename .vob to .mpg and import into Premiere, you can even save them out to dv-avi.
Or hook your dvd-player to a camera with video-in.

Export as a Microsoft dv-avi.

If your footage is HDV it won’t show up in the capture window.

Scale you footage up a tiny bit, put fake black bars over the footage to cover the top and bottom edge up.

Any chance of you harddisk being FAT formatted instead of NTFS.
FAT does not allow you to capture more than 4 gig which is about 20 minutes.

If your footage is progressief your project needs to be with no fields and exported with no fields.

If no FX is done in AE take the file straight form PP into Encore. Let Encore do the math and burn it to disk.
