I have a A1 and no trouble capturing.
Make sure everything is set to hdv and not auto.
If you change settings to the camera, disconnect from pc first.
NEVER hook the camera to the pc when the camera is on.
Connect camera first, put camera on wait until windows finds the camera. Select Premiere and fire up.

I think you mean selfmade Presets.
Cant remember where Pro puts them.
You can export your presets in any directory you like.

Try BluRay mpeg or H264 for export that will give you plain m2v cq. mp4 files BD compliant.

Premiere has never been able to do this.
Scenalyzer has optical scene detection.

If you made the lower third in the titler you can save it as a template otherwise save it as a Microsoft avi with the codec set to NONE and bit depth to 32.
