Before using DL copy clip and put it in the timeline and disable or drag it into the Project Panel.

At one point the stopwatch was turned off by default. But it caused so much trouble within Premiere it was turned on again.

Set aspect ratio to HD anamorfic (1.333) that will give you 1440×1080.

Your graphics should look crisp. I just tried it in a dvcprohd720p24 timeline.
Is you graphicscard up to date?

Short answer no. Premiere 1.5 only understands HDV footage which is mpeg2.

There are several CC tools in Premiere to do that for you.
Fast Color Corrector, RGB curves, RGB color corrector.

Unfortunately not. Its an annoying thing, one has to make sure to click the icon and not the text.

Does the title have the same frame size as your timeline.
