I’m coming from Final Cut where I have a graphic, say 480×250, that I edit into my timeline that is 1280×720. The graphic is obviously smaller and scaled 100% is not going to fill the frame and keep it at it’s best quality.

Now in premiere, I am trying to do the same thing. However, when I edit in the graphic, it fills the frame and in the effects panel it shows it at 100% (filling the entire frame). I know this graphic is not that large and it is pixelated. What is the correct process when using graphics in premiere?

    Thanks for any help.

Right click on the grafics and uncheck Scale to frame size if its checked. Also check the Preferences is Default Scale to Frame Size.
In the Source monitor the grafic will always show at 100%, in the Program monitor it will show the dimension it has taken on in the timeline.

Thanks Ann. One more questions for you. I’m noticing that text that I create in the titler is blurred when set in my sequence. I does not show that it is scaled over 100% and is still blurry looking after rendering.

Rendering as in making preview or export to final product.

Does the title have the same frame size as your timeline.
Here are some tips on fonts etc.

Yes, it is the same frame size. I’m working in DVCPROHD 720P. Paused and Play resolution is at full. When paused the text is blurry.

Right click on the Program monitor. Choose > Paused Resolution > Full
    Hope that works for you.

Hi Kevin. I have full quality checked and still see the issue. This has me stumped. I’m not sure why it is difficult to create crisp looking text in Premiere.

Your graphics should look crisp. I just tried it in a dvcprohd720p24 timeline.
Is you graphicscard up to date?
