Make sure you are on the latest version.
Premiere for windows use to have this issue but has been resolved in the meantime.

Forget about dpi (dots per inch), that is for printing. The only thing that matters are the pixels.
In this tutorial Andrew shows you a way to batch resize in Photoshop.

If you want to do some panning and zooming make them twice the size of your framesize.

That is correct if its 4:3 footage.
Widescreen would be 1050×576.

As said on the other forum. Its not a moire problem but a interlaced problem. The coombing effect is very much present.
Cant find any specs for the camera, unknown canon model.

The scopes correspond with the sequence (in the English version at least)
If its pal (25 frames) the scope is automatic set to volts.
This is for CS5.5. I cannot confirm this for CS4.

File / New Sequence / Setting / Editing Mode / Custom.
Usually one sets the sequence up the same as the footage and then export to the given dimension.
