First set your playback to upper field. That will get of the interlacing in the preview window.

Dont export to dv avi, you can select upper (in previous versions) but in fact it will exported to lower.
Export directly to mpeg2-dvd upper field.
Import that into Encore for authoring dvd (if that is the end product)

Your timeline says No Sequence.
Make a sequence first:
Right click in clip in Project Window: Make new sequence from clip.
That should do the trick.

Try Rightclick on the clip in the timeline and Replace with Clip > from Source Monitor Match Frame

Illustrator flattens on import.
But one can Edit Original in order to make changes.

That is correct. Match frame opens from the timeline the source clip in the SM not the other way around.

Dont exactly know what you are trying to achieve.

If the dvd has copy protect you are out of luck.

You copy the dvd to hdd. Then import the .vob files (which contains the video) into Premiere. You do not need the rest. Thats all.
If a movie contains ceveral vobs there can be glitches between the cuts.
Vob’s are not ideal to edit.

No way a Studio Project can be imported into Pr.
However Studio can export to mov. Maybe its possible to use the animation code.
