I’ve used CamStudio, and it could hardly be easier to use. You install it, press record, and you’re off. You can set it to record audio from your microphone or your computer’s speakers as well.

I used to use a DVD Doctor to repair scratched DVDs. It was tedious but worked well.

    Here’s some available on amazon.

June 30, 2012 at 11:02 pm in reply to: Advice from experts on first project

You’ll have to make the video unlisted or public-it’s private, so none of us can see it.

Before I even see it, my question in response to people who ask this is, “What do you think of it? You know your opinion of it.” By asking me, you’re daring me to be the bad guy and say that it isn’t good. So my advice is always to do what you like, because your job as a filmmaker is to make movies that you see. “Quality” is a dirty word in that regard.

You’ve got to check with the tv station for that. It can vary depending on the station.

You’ll almost certainly have to upgrade to Vegas 10 or 11, have a current operating system like Windows 7 (if you don’t already), and have a powerful computer to run it.

I’ve had this happen a few times, and it’s a bug. Report it to Sony. They told me that it should have been fixed with the latest update.

Do you have quantize to frames turned on? If you have it turned off while editing, but then turn it on, events that you haven’t placed on exact frames will be sort of stuck in that small region between frames, though the fix is as simple as dragging clips/changing their length.

Weird. I record audio using an H1 and have never had these issues.

Has this ever happened before with other audio, from the H1 or other sources? Are your project properties matching the audio? At any rate, this sounds like a bug which I’d report to Sony, and they’ll get right on it in 6-8 months.

June 20, 2012 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Video switching between upper and lower fields?

I wouldn’t know-I render it for broadcast and then upload it to an ftp site that they test for quality control. I just got word that it worked fine, and I changed nothing about the field order, I don’t really know what happened.

June 20, 2012 at 2:21 pm in reply to: How to Do THIS MUSIC VIDEO effect.

It looks like they shot it like stop-motion animation, only with actors and full scale sets. So they took maybe 12 frames per second by posing the actor for each frame and taking a picture. They would have had to have time it out beforehand.
