A few things:
1) Make sure your RED importer plugin is up to date https://labs.adobe.com/technologies/redepic_importer/
2) Make sure your Red Rocket drivers and firmware are up to date
3) Make sure your Red Rocket is actually active. With a RED clip loaded in your bin, right click and select “source settings” scroll down and look at the settings. If the Rocket icon is lit in Redcine X (assuming you have it open at the same time) then Redcine X has reserved the card and Premiere isn’t using it. Only one program can use a rocket card at one time.
Curious, what is your hard drive setup?

I need more detail. Right now it’s like saying “I put gas in my car but it won’t start”.
What are any/all of the output settings you are dissatisfied with? Can you post a clear HD video you feel is a “benchmark” in terms of clarity?
First thing is are you watching your videos at 100% or streched to full screen? iMac screens are larger than 1920×1080 so everything will be scaled up. Scaling up = loss of sharpness. Also viewing video on your computer is not like viewing a video on your HDTV where your TV may employ software to enhance sharpness and contrast. Contrast increases apparent edge sharpness.
The choice of export format and the codec used to encode that format will also have a bearing as they will all do image prefiltering differently. Using Premiere or Media Encoder, exporting with Apple’s h.264 codec in the MOV container is lower quality than exporting h.264 as it’s own option because the latter uses the better MainConcept’s h.264 codec. Their codec also allows for 2-pass encoding which can improve sharpness. These are bested still by exporting uncompressed from Premiere and using a commandline tool like FFMPEG to encode h.264 with The x264 codec. All of these codecs (pieces of software code) all produce an h.264 video, but with varying degrees of quality.
Some people choose to slightly over sharpen their full program knowing that it will go to a video site that will re-encode and lose a level of sharpness.

1) https://blogs.adobe.com/VideoRoad/2010/06/understanding_color_processing.html you need to turn on Maximum Quality for your project. The article will answer a number of your other questions.
2) Better color mixing, better blending of images in the midtones (thanks to a transformation to linear gamma and back to viewing gamma after calculation) and other minute advantages.
3) If Premiere isn’t set for maximum quality, I’m not sure what will happen. It may truncate it to 8 or 10 bit or it may recognize it as native and fall back to full 32-bit for that section. Not well documented.
4) IIRC it will reduce the precision of all effects that follow it in the effects stack. Even in 32 bit mode, your image quality will be reduced back to 8 or 16 bit precision.
5) An intermediate codec like any of the DNxHD 10 bit codecs, ProRes 4444, and so on. Most playable formats max at 10 bits of color precision. 32 bits doesn’t enhance the image so much as aid in the precision of color calculations. Common monitors are limited to 8-bit with specialty panels allowing for 10-bit viewing precision.

Edit > Preferences > Playback. Make sure Adobe Monitors are unchecked. Premiere will appropriate one of your monitors for playback if these are selected. Unselected and you’ll have both monitors for application use.

In Premiere, keywords are listed under Dublin Core > Subject.
Dublin Core is a major metadata schema, while IPTC core is just a schema that uses certain elements of the Dublin Core in certain ways. To get techy, it’s kind of like how RSS is specific usage of XML.
Keywords are separated by commas or semicolons when entering them.
The metadata panel will not filter multiple files, to search by keyword do it using the search field in the project panel.

You’re in the Premiere forum, are you using Premiere at any step or is this just a misdirected post?
Regardless, try the simple solution: Take on of the affected HQ files and transcode another ProRes HQ file from the original h.264 to see if it was an encoding error.

I checked my laptop, Mac does have it. Seems like a superficial bug.
If you found a work around by creating an empty project and importing your working project into it without issue then I say chalk it up to a bug and keep working.

I think he may be referring to the Preview/Prerender codec, not necessarily the footage codec.

On the Left tab, keep as-is, on the Right tab mix 100% Left and 0% right. Apply the effect and it will clone the left channel.
Alternate: Right click file in bin, extract to mono and delete the empty mono file.
