ProRes Proxy to HQ reconnect glitchy
Hello,
I searched “The Cow” to no avail, so here goes.
My problem:
I shot a music video using DSLRs. I ingested the files to FCP 7 as both ProRes (Proxy) and ProResHQ.
I edited my footage using proxy. Everything went great. I’ve done this many times.
When I reconnected to my ProResHQ files, I started to get slight glitchy lines that look like tape hits, or some sort of digital distortion. I reconnected for a second time, and got the same issue… The source H.264 files do not have these glitches, nor do the proxy files.
I double-checked my sequence settings and they are the same.
I sent the sequence to Color, and the files are glitchy in the same spots. I did a generic grade to see if that made any difference – and it did! when I looked at the graded sequence in FCP 7 the glitches were worse!
Any ideas what might be causing this? Any Ideas about how to remedy this?

You’re in the Premiere forum, are you using Premiere at any step or is this just a misdirected post?
Regardless, try the simple solution: Take on of the affected HQ files and transcode another ProRes HQ file from the original h.264 to see if it was an encoding error.
