https://www.avsforum.com/t/1471169/madvr-argyllcms/180 about half way down will be a link to this file https://www.argyllcms.com/Win32_collink_3dlut.zip
It includes a Rec. 2020 icc profile (.icm extension, rename to .icc for OSX) Looks like a reputable source from someone who knows color science but I’d consider it experimental.

It does, the scanner is a variable PPI device so by upping the sampling rate, or PPI in this case, you get a result with more pixels. Of course that dimension will be in flux if you scan an 8×10 vs a 4×6 image.
To make media management easier after the fact, it may be good to resize all photos to a semi-consistent size using Photoshop or Lightroom.

DPI settings means nothing as monitors are fixed DPI/PPI devices. 1920x1080px at 72DPI and 300DPI is the same https://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2010/02/the-myth-of-dpi/
Your scanner may lock DPI to scan size so if you have a 4×6 inch picture, scanning at 300DPI would result in a 1200×1800 pixel image.
Premiere doesn’t take kindly to images more than 4000px on the long end, or so I’ve heard. Scanning your images in around this large should allow you plenty of leeway for panning and scanning Ken Burns style.

The DVD spec allows for 5.1 in uncompressed WAV, the only limitation at that point is disc space.
FFMPEG should have an AC-3 encoder if you need to go Dolby.

Alternate:
1) Add two submix stereo tracks, add Fill Left to one as a channel effect and Fill right to the other.
2) In the Audio Mixer panel, assign your original track output assignments (under channel effects) to Submix 1 and 2. Set the volumes of the sends to 0db and set the pan for one to -100 (left) and the other to 100 (right).
3) Right click these send assignments and select “Prefader”, mute your original track. Now sound only plays from the two stereo sends.
4) Voila! You can now add effects to each submix as if it were one channel of the dual mono source. As a bonus, the panner/balance clip envelope in the timeline now acts as a balance control between the two dual mono sources so you can mix and balance within the timeline.
This is the easiest track assignment to control the volume of dual mono if you didn’t split it from the get-go. Submixes are your best friend.

July 17, 2013 at 7:45 pm in reply to: Exporting RED from AE to FCP for grade in Resolve1) Animation vs ProRes 4444
I would export a DPX 10-bit full range image sequence. If you need to re-edit any portion in FCP then also export a second ProRes file in whatever flavor your project is currently in. I assume the goal in Resolve is to online all your RED footage; in this case these VFX image sequences would just replace the original RED footage.I don’t suggest exporting uncompressed from After Effects. If you don’t know what you’re doing then you’ll run into a lot of uncompressed video formats that are 8-bit 4:2:2 color when you could have stuck to DPX at 10-bit 4:4:4
2) Millions vs. Trillions of Colors
Trillions of Colors or, if you need alpha then Trillions of Colors+Millions of colors is 8-bit, Trillions is 16-bit (truncated down to 10-bit for many high quality export formats), and floating point is 32-bit (used mostly for OpenEXR image sequences).
3) Straight vs. Premultiplied
This only comes into play if your file has alpha (transparency). Since this is a finished VFX shot, you shouldn’t have any transparent spots in your image (once elements and plate are combined) so this setting means nothing in practice.——————–

July 17, 2013 at 7:24 pm in reply to: Premiere sequence to Final Cut Pro XML not translating over effects.XML files are simply text instructions for an NLE program to create bins/timelines and so on. Warp Stabalizer is an Adobe-specific effect and, as such, has no matching feature that can be represented by an XML file so the resulting effect is stripped.
Best thing to do is to render out that clip with the effect and once the edit is in FCP 7 (as your post would suggest thats what you’re trying to do) you can use a replace edit.

I think my goal was to show you the first response to that post. The expense of a Quadro card doesn’t translate to speed so much as it does other features like professional outputs, a larger instruction set for CAD/3D, faster RAM access, and so on. Will you need those features, do you care about resale value? That’s what you need to weigh out.

You’re throwing around a lot of i’s and p’s, way more than what makes sense.
50i in HD is really the same as standard definition PAL 25i. It’s 50 fields per second, or 25 interlaced frames. Why we’ve decided to switch to this naming convention, I don’t know.
25p is 25 frames per second, and 50p is 50 frames per second.
You have two choices:
You can convert 25p to 50i by splitting it in fields, so each even and odd field from from the same frame.
You could also convert 50p to 50i by throwing away half of the vertical resolution so each field comes from a unique frame, just as a 50i camera would record it.
It depends on if you want to prioritize size resolution or time resolution.
