Support for XDCAM HD (VBR) as fully qualified FCP native codecs was introduced with FCP5.1.2 … XDCAM EX (VBR) codecs with FCP6.0.2, and XDCAM HD422 with 6.0.3

The difference is apparent because of the non-square Pixel Aspect Ratio of your encoded video … by default Quicktime is displaying your video using a square pixel ie using it’s Clean Aperture setting, but you want it to display using the Production Aperture instead (this mode compensates for pixel aspect ratio and is the default display mode that FCP uses).
You can change that in Quicktime Player by modifying the clip’s Conform aperture to: setting in the clip’s Movie Properties window. Step by step here:

you need to open the bin otherwise the whole project is still targeted … double click teh bin to open it into its new window/tab then with that active export your batch list

it seems to export every clip in the active bin (or root level, if that’s what’s active) … if you want to export a batch list of a subset of clips the easiest workaround seems to be to drop them in a separate bin then export the batch list from there

all seems straight forward enough Andy …
3 cams … throw all clips in timeline … use sequenceLiner to sync on timecode … make movie for each angle … edit using multiclip
but where does the subclipping you originally described come into this workflow?
