Not that I know of, although it has been a heavily requested feature the last few years in the Adobe forums.

  • Sorry, I have not tried to do that. I use an Atomos Shogun Inferno monitor with my FS7, so I use those cards for capture and playback since the monitor has loop through HDMI and SDI output.

Yes, AME doesn’t keep the last used settings when exporting from an Adobe program. Only when dragging something into AME. Hopefully we won’t have to wait til 2021 MAX to get this fix.

Oh sorry, I initially thought you needed to know how to make presets. Unfortunately, I do not think Adobe fixed this issue yet. The best success is when dragging files directly into AME, as it remembers the last settings used. So, it should automatically select the Quicktime format and Apple ProRes 422 HQ preset if that is what you used previously. It will do so until changed again. In addition, you can select multiple files and just change the settings for one and the rest will update, which is useful if you’re doing a large batch.

I know that also isn’t what you are looking for, as you want a way to always have it be default even if it’s not the last used… or when exporting directly from another Adobe software.

In the Preset Browser Window, hit the plus sign and you can create a new encoding or ingest preset. Then, you can select it from the dropdown in your queue when there’s a file there.

AME is not great at exporting GIFs. Photoshop is excellent at it, so I’d use that. You could always use AME to export your video as an .mp4 to pull into Photoshop to create your GIF.

Also, I don’t believe a GIF supports CMYK profile.

It’s a restriction of the profile and level, just as you can get different max bitrates by changing the profile and level. If you use level 1, the minimum bitrate reduces to .06.

With MP4, you must choose an even number of pixels. Odd numbers don’t work since the software works on groups of pixels that contain at least 4 pixels. There are some formats that don’t care if the pixels are even, but it’s generally a good workflow principle to follow anyway.

You could screencapture the Zoom interface (just setup a call yourself) so you have the actual buttons and layout. Then it’s all about scaling and positioning your video windows as the screen adjusts to the number of people joining/showing when in grid view.

Yes, Adobe played around with this even in Prelude. But this is Adobe Sensei driven, machine learning and AI that are much improved since then.
