I have the VT25 and have not had such issues – are you sure you have the input on the panny set to the right port, and are you outputting straight from the card or thru an hdlink, aja, etc
I will say that right at the end of my 1 year warranty the fans all failed – not sure if they fixed this known issue in the VT25 but the repair guy was telling me it happens often and they switch out a whole bunch of tiny little fans in the back – crazy.

I would also love to hear about how other attempt at dealing with Log if they dont use the Alexa Lut or whatever..special sauce needs to be shared!
I am also curious if anyone has info on the latest version of Resolve and how it incorporates Canon C300 workflows? Does it just mean it can now read those ‘raw’ log files or do i also need some kind of Lut??
thanks

Yikes.
ok maybe i wont use ACES yet 🙂Would people agree with the LUT in Output & Display method as a good starting point in DaVinci when grading Log-C material?
thank you

Thanks for the replies guys.
So is it ok that I did not apply any LUT at the end of my node chain when doing a grade for web? Should I have if it were for broadcast and/or film? Which LUT would you recommend I use and wouldn’t that then change my entire grade’s look?
I am still a little confused as to whether or not I should use REDLogFilm or not, and if so when?! Following warren eagles tutorials / videos and others I was initially under the impression to have RED stuff start at 2 across the board – that the color science was ‘better’ but as I mentioned, I have recently also seen people use the REDLogfilm option and I just want to better understand things.
Thank you for any more info that can be provided on this subject, much appreciated!

December 21, 2011 at 4:11 pm in reply to: REMOVE GRAIN Recommended Render Settings – 12-core 32gb?HELLO GUYS,
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS – RENDERING OBVIOUSLY 😉
SO RIGHT NOW I AM ADDING GRAIN TO A PRORES444 15 MINUTE RENDER OUT OF DAVINCI RESOLVE ON SOME GRADED R3D FOOTAGE THAT THE DIRECTOR WANTS A BIT GRITTIER.
MY QUESTION IS AGAIN ABOUT RENDER SETTINGS:
THAT IS, I HAVE IT SET TO MULTI PROCESSING AND LEAVING 10 GB FOR OTHER APPS IS THIS CORRECT ON MY 32GB 12-CORE? IT SAYS 4 HRS TO RENDER 🙁

12-core macpro 32gb ram – what should my render settings be btw?
ok thank you!!
-
specifically i chose Koadak800T at .300 percent monochromatic
is that ok?
-
Yeah i created some stills for them to see but ultimately will be adding a short render of it as well to see it in context.
I guess my question is more like ok its a color Red piece should i for example being checking monochromatic or leave that on, I have a reference from them but its more than just grain on that reference its also like gritty texture which they dont want so I am using my own judgement – i honestly dont want to gritty it up at all ya know – its beautiful sharp footage but they want to at least see what some grain will do to get the look they are going for.

hello
so i am taking your advice sir – brought in my 13 minute render and applying grain and trying different presets – i have turned it don to .500 and plan to just set in/out for shorts tests on a few parts – any settings suggestions? The director has asked for some stills as well so i think i will just do that with the test renders but would you suggest i do that out of AE instead and if so how best to do so?
thank you for your time.
