Hi Juan,
I am confused by the response – change timeline format you mean (i.e. for 5K shots set to customized 5120×2700) and just render one clip at a time adjusting the settings in config as needed? I would rather not try to make separate sessions for each format as all i have is the xml file and an offline reference – i need the least tedious / quickest way to render each shot in its native r3d resolution as ProRes444 quicktime files based on the xml from edit.
Ok well then what about when its time to render out in broadcast safe – are you saying i just change that on the render tab and it should be fine or what?
Is it not ok that i transcoded the files to ProResHQ to work with? They seem plenty decent quality to grade off of so why dies it matter?
If its for web and broadcast dont i need to set to scaled davinci yrgb to keep things safe? I will try this in the morning to see if that was it but i am curious to know more.
The codec coming from smoke and flame is shown in the screen grab i included.. not sure what you mean rohit.
I have had a few crashes when doing the export+ yes but maybe shutdown and restart and also update to latest version if that doesn’t work..otherwise might be something with your OS, system, etc.
i get crashes all the time on multiple systems at vfx shops, agency’s, etc – not just at home..regardless its a great tool and hopefully they will try to compete with Baselight, Lustre, etc with some plugins, 64bit, etc.
Chris,
I believe there were no repo’s in fcp just used transcoded ProRes files to do the cut and for whatever reason yeah the AE artists then used autoduck to reconnect the xml in AE with the R3D files and as far as he says he then did some moves and such with the 4k shots – anyways i am in another state and with only a few days turnaround we could overnight fedex back and forth of course but i am also open to the 1080 baked out edl/scene detect approach as long as the debayer quality of what he passes off to me is really good i guess?
Whats the ‘best way to test nvidia card performance – i want to compare a 285 vs. 470 to see how it stacks up?? Like how do i know how fast its rendering out – is there an app to test nvidia card performance?
