Ooops…sorry. ^_^ Still in a PowerPC world here (x2 G4s), so wasn’t thinking Intel myself. =P. Still, I think I read earlier on the boards, if you’re Intel, you could switch Quicktime into Rosetta to play M100 clips using the old PowerPC transcoders. Not ideal, but at least now all the info’s in the thread somewhere.

Really wanna see the FCP colour wheels for colour correction in Media100 or something similar.

Are you sure the Transcoder isn’t still online?
I reinstalled it on an old system just a few weeks ago.

Yep, here is the old skool M100 Transcoder:

And here is the new-skool M100 Video Codecs, which eventually replaced the Transcoder:

So whether you need the new codecs, or the old transcoder, they’re both up there on the media100 website.

No master audio bus at the bottom.
I was thinking more like, how with Color FX there’s that “Apply Colour FX to all selected clips” if there’s a similar option for volume,so adjustments in one clip can be quickly applied to others too.

Anyway, no worries.
The really long part that needed adjusting, I just upped it in the mixer window, exported it and reimported it.
As for the rest…am being fiddly now and going through it clip at a time! =P

It is M100 in the earliest iterations of the software/hardware manifestations that spoke to a certain promise… Buying into M100 (03) has turned out to be one of the most expensive and non-productive choices of my career.

Yes, things have moved forward. I simply don’t have the money to afford a new system. On the other hand, I can’t afford the system I seem to have inherited. The changes in technology I understand – but some clarity of legacy stuff would be clearence stuff at this point in time.

There’s really no point in me investing further in the system, after all, there’s no jobs out there for M100 operators.

Hey – I appreciate the reply.
Am used to importing in graphics and such like, and used to create cool linear flash animations using pre-prepared bitmap sequences, so importing images from an art programme sounds right up my street, =), and I should take to that like a duck in water, so that’s pretty exciting for me.

There’s a programme on my Mac called A.Pack or something. The icon makes it look like it’s audio related. I wonder if that would help with AC3 conversion? Hmm…yeah, it seems to be an AC3 audio encoder programme in the DVD Studio folder, although unlike DVD SP, it looks like I have both an OSX version and a OS9 version.

I can boot up DVD SP 1.1 and see what its requirements are.
Ahh…the PDF manual states is accepts PCM, MPEG Audio, and AC-3 audio.

Wooooaaaahhh…..looks like I have an OS9 programme called Astarte M.Pack 3.03 for encoding MPEG1 and MPEG2 videos for DVD.
Any knowledge on how this compares to BitVice/Compressor, or will I just have to experiment and find out?

Have been doing a lot of wmv conversions with MPEG Streamclip since you first recommended it to me.

Obviously, all this advice isn’t gonna go anywhere until I recieve the SuperDrive, but when I do, I’ll have a fiddle around and see how it all goes.

Yeah, I remember seeing something like that too. I’ll look it up. Although first I’m gonna see if I can’t find a copy of BitVice maybe…

Totally forgot MPEG encoding would take ages – of course! =P Doh.
[ I do some web encoding and that takes long enough. 😉 ].
Might be better just duping the VCR produced DVD in the first instance.
