There’s a press release about the release of Version 12.0 on the cover page of Creative Cow – the lower half of the page. Yet it’s not yet mentioned on Media 100’s site!

To David C with Media 100: V12.0 looks great! Quick access to preset clip and transition effects answers one of my top three Media 100HD wishes!

I’ve got several Media 100i’s and two new Final Cut suites. I’m buying a Media 100HD suite within the next two months and will need to buy another suite within the next twelve months.

My other two Media 100HD wishes:

1 – Please incorporate the same simple, powerful color-corrector that Final Cut has. I’ve got an office full of editors who are not tech savvy, and the Final Cut color-corrector saves our rears at least once a week. One just finds something in a frame that should be white, clicks on it and all of the other colors adjust based on that white. Tremendously powerful and simple.

2 – The easier you can make it to create fun, moving graphics, the better. Why is it my daughter who just bought a new mac can so easily and quickly create moving graphics much more fun and interesting than the ones we create?

Thanks. Nail those two things and you’ll own me for a long time!

Couldn’t agree more on the colour correction! An FCP user friend of mine told me about their ‘white balance’ instant correction and I didn’t believe him! I have now got the hang of our RGB levels but it does take a lot of messing around to get it right.

Another big query is can we edit XDCAM material in Media 100? Sony are now pinning their HD future with XDCAM and the new sensational XDCAM EX and I am not sure whether Media 100 can handle it yet. David C can you please enlighten us?

I too need XDCAM native support in Media 100 (& would love to see colour correction like FCP). Let’s encourage Media 100 to develop both these requirements…

    G5 dual 2.7, OS10.4.8, 4G RAM
    Media100 HD V11.5 & Producer, AE 7
    3.6 terra RAID

I agree, the “work around” method that was sent out by Media100, is not very practical.

I just wanted to say congratulations to Boris and the Media 100 team
not only for getting Media 100 back on its feet and to release Version 12 –
no mean feat in its own right

but also to say thanks because you have allowed a whole bunch of people to keep using
    what they love and enjoy

Ditto! Thank you Boris & M100. Like many, I went over to Final Cut a year or so ago, didn’t like it, and switched back to good ol’ Media 100i 8.2.3a. I’ve used M100 since 1997. It is rock solid and has always put out such clean video. Also, much thanks to Floh for being there for all of us with questions and problems.
We are waiting to purchase 3 HDCAM EX cameras when they come out, and will upgrade to Media100 HD soon after that. One of our editors is using Avid Express Pro for HD for now, and all SD is still on M100i. Picture in picture is what we use a lot of in Avid and would like it to be as easy to use in M100 as we do not use After Effects. The biggest request would be color correction like in Final Cut. But, please….don’t change the user interface and ease of use as this is what we all have grown to love and appreciate!

This is the best editing software I have used since 1985… back in the ACE Micro era. It’s the easiest to view and easiest to use interface and the most like the Macintosh itself.

Thanks Media 100 in case you don’t hear it enough. But please don’t rest on your laurels. Please promote more sampling so people can see what they’re missing.

Really wanna see the FCP colour wheels for colour correction in Media100 or something similar.
Other than that – keep up the good work!

=P You can already copy and paste can’t you?
I copy and paste clips in Media100i 7.5 all the time. =P
Or was there some other aspect of copy/paste you wanted to see?
