Here is a link to a Vegas Pro 10e file called Are you Ready.veg that shows how I recreated the text in the Marine recruitment video.

    4739_areyouready.veg.zip

It only uses two tracks. Track 1 is generated media text with a gaussian blur keyframed on it. Track 2 is a generated media gradient (white to black) that has also been keyframed. While this quick effort is not exactly like the video, it’s very close and with a little additional tweaking, I think you could get it to your liking.

Did you have the Render Loop Region Only checkbox checked in the render dialog box? If this was checked and you had only a portion of your timeline in the blue Loop Region, then it will only render that portion of your project.

I’ve had good results with Zaxwerks ProAnimator. Version 6 is the most recent. Here is a link to check it out:

You’re close! If you’re not going to do “pan and scan” across the pictures, get one of the rotated pictures the way you want (correct orientation), then right-click on that picture (event) on the timeline. On the context-sensitive menu, select Copy. Now go to any of the other pictures that need the same rotation treatment, right-click on them and select Paste Event Attributes. You can do the paste event attributes to one picture at a time, or use the Windows shift+left-click or Ctrl+left-click to select contiguous events or non-contiguous events.

    Good Luck!

    Andrew,

If they are vector graphics, you should be able to resize them without loss of quality right in Corel Draw. This may require that you have a “large” and “small” format of your graphic.

I’m not sure what you mean, “I came across a limit there was not enough of working are[a] in pan mode”. You can resize the pan/crop viewing area by using the slider control on the lower left side of the Pan/Crop window titled Workspace – Zoom %. You can also change the size of the graphic from within the Pan/Zoom window by either dragging the bounding box handles, or changing the Position (Width or Height) value directly.

Hopefully, this gives you some ideas as to what can be done.

I tried to duplicate your setup quickly here at work. I setup a widescreen project and then dropped a picture that was oriented vertically onto the timeline. If you go into the Pan/Crop and set your rotation to either 270 or 90 (depending on which way the camera was rotated when the picture was taken), your picture will be oriented the way you want, which I believe you have done. Next grab a “handle” (corner box) in Pan/Crop and stretch the box to the width of the picture as you see it in the Pan/Crop window (i.e. it will still be oriented vertically). I have taken a screen shot of what I’m talking about and displayed it below. Pic on top is the Pan/Crop window, Pic on bottom is what is being displayed on screen.

  • I’m not familiar with how you would bring a Powerpoint project into Vegas, but what I see of your short video clip, it looks to me like the slides are set to transition from one to the next via fadeout/fadein. If each of your slides from Powerpoint is an “event” or a discreet entity that can be moved on the Vegas timeline, I’m guessing each slide is overlapped with the next. The amount they overlap, in relation to the project timeline is how much time they will exist on screen at the same time. As an example, if the slides are overlapped by 1.0 seconds on your timeline, then during that 1 second period, the first slide will fade out while the second slide fades in. If you can move each slide (event) so they are stacked end-to-end rather than being overlapped you should be OK. This can be done relatively easily as long as you have the Ripple Edit function on and the Snap to Events turned on.

Should be no “fear”, just go back to your Vegas project and make the few changes noted and you should be good to go.

I don’t believe you will be able to do that from within DVDA.

    1) You will have to go back into Vegas and setup your project to be Widescreen (16:9) in your project properties.
    2) Put a Generated Media solid color (purple) onto your bottom track.
    3) Put your pictures on a track above this.
    4) Don’t set your pictures to match aspect ratio in the Pan/Crop area, which will leave them as standard (4:3) layout.

In essence, you will create a widescreen project (with a purple background), that has standard (4:3) format pictures displayed in the center of this.

  • Roger,

Thanks, that explanation was perfect! I enjoy reading this forum, as you never know what you’ll learn. I knew the 2D shadow was available, but I didn’t realize you could resize and move the “shadow” layer.
