The best way is with dynamic link assuming you have either the production premium or the master suite – otherwise you can’t use dynamic link – in which case your only option is to render it out of PP and bring that in to AE which is a pain and best done on a sequence by sequence basis rather than outputting the whole thing in one go!!
If you have the production premium or master suite then in after effects you can choose File>Adobe Dynamic Link>Import Premiere Pro Sequence. Then you choose the sequence you want to work on.
However, dynamic link is 1 way only. So, you can make changes in PP which will show up in AE, but any changes you make in AE will not show up in PP and you will need to render the sequence out from AE to get both the PP and the AE changes.
You could put your final PP output sequence opened in AE and then make any changes, but this tends to be for final subtle changes rather than bigger effects. For bigger effects you tend to do this on a sequence by sequence basis.
Then, as with other projects you just nest the sequence/comps in a final output comp and render that out from AE after your final colour grading/style corrections.

Sometimes when audio won’t do what you want I right click on it and choose Edit in Soundbooth>Render and Replace. This then takes the original audio, renders it and put the copy back into PP. Usually this deals with the audio problems AND, if you really need to you can keyframe in Soundbooth if it won’t work in PP. Hope this helps. Andrew

CS5 is really good with a very wide range of formats including H.264 and you should find it nice and easy. Issues with multiple layers of H.264 can happen as the processors can get pushed to the limit if you try and do too many PiPs (picture in picture) but even so, if you have a reasonably good machine you should be fine if you keep it to 1 or 2 layers at a time – I’ve seen five layers working – just.
As for export, first thing, select the sequence in the timeline and then choose file>Export>Media. This will open the Media Encoder and you can get any codecs you already have on your machine through that. Have a play and have fun. Andrew

Not 100% sure, but if you save a project without any content in the older version and then open it in CS5 if should update and you should keep the bin structure. And if you don’t have the windows machine anymore, then you should be able to open any old project with the right bin structure and then let PP update it to CS5 and not link any of the media. You will have to clear out the icons in the bins but that should be simple. Then save the project as a tamplate project ready to use for your next project – open it and save it in the name of your new project. Hope this helps. Andrew

You could try convolution reverb – bitter hallway and play with the settings, it give quite a good church-ish feel … you should also look up ‘impulses’ on the web for convolution reverb. These are actual models of real places which can match what you want quite well … Hope this helps. Andrew

Sorry not to be more helpful. You say you have tried other codecs, but have you tried exporting with a lossless codec like AVI lossless or the Animation codec for quicktime? I know these are very large, but as they are lossless they should be ok, anyway, if they work you can then re-import the file and then try exporting it again in Quicktime with the H.264 codec without worrying about loosing quality. It may not work, but it is worth trying as a work around.
However, if the lossless codec won’t work I am lost for ideas … Andrew
PS – How about trying to dynamically link the timeline to Encore and see if the timeline plays and renders through that? You will be a little restricted in your output options but it’s worth a try

There is a workplace for colour correction which has the monitor open. Choose Widows – Workplace – then look for the colour correction workplace. When you are done choose the standard workplace. Hope this helps. Andrew

Not sure what’s happening, but you could try right clicking the audio section and choose Edit in Soundbooth – render and replace. Then in Soundbooth see if the waveform is visible and if it is, if should then be visible in your timeline. Hope this helps. Andrew
