If you look in the pp basics tutorials you will find a tutorial i did on understanding the splash screens. This will explain them all for you. Andrew

    Determine your intended output.
Are you going to make a DVD?
If so, use a ‘DV – Pal’ preset.

The i50 means Interlaced 50 Fields Per Second.
If your footage is Interlaced PAL, then it is i50 (or 50i)
i60 is NTSC, probably not for you.

If your project is progressive, or not interlaced, you might use a setting like 25p.

Is it going to be for some other format, web maybe?

    Regarding the codec…
What is the codec and format/frame size/frame rate of your source material?

If you’re not sure of the specs of your footage, try opening the footage with gspot.

Just some thoughts to help get you started.

this is the link, sorry it took a while to send it. The key is that the setting for the sequence should match the footage that comes out of your camera and not be set up for your output – that comes at the output stage. Hope you find this helpful. Andrew
