You should have been on IBC and the IBC FCPUG Supermeet, we showed a lot of options with this kinda workflow issues 😉
As Mark mentioned, creating multiclips out of the result of my sequenceLiner would be the easiest way especially as your clips do have the same TC. But with that amount of clips it is a tedious work.
One thing you can do: depending on the amount of angles create a a scale and offset for the first clip of each angle (for example upper left corner of angle 1 in upper left corner of the screen) with a scale which would allow to fit 2-x video streams to fit into your final temporary output. Then copy and paste attributes of the first clip of a track/angle to all following of the track. This will look like a split screen in the end.
Now you can start to make edit decisions. When your done, remove attributes for all the clips.If you’re interested you can send me an PM for an early beta which automatically creates multiclips in the browser from camera clips and external audio.

One way is to add an empty text generator which covers the complete timeline, then export.

Yes there is.
In the browser view scroll to the Angle column or make it visible by crtl-click one of the table column titles.
Enter an angle 1,2,3… for any single clip which needs an angle – if needed. Select all the the clips you want to assign an angle to and crtl-click the angle entry of any of those. From the popup select the angle. That’s it.Andreas

You may have a look at my TitleExchange Tool which would allow to export all titles from FCP to several kinds of text based formats for translations.
It would also allow to get back several kind of formats back into FCP.If you know a bit about XML and TC it’s also ‘easy’ to feed a FCP XML with the XML values in the second screen shot you provided.

Yes you can do. Create a script within FMP that creates a valid FCP XML. You can read the FinalCutPro XML PDF to learn about how to do.
One major thing you have take care about is the ‘updatebehavior’ to replace values. With FCP 6 you will probably get updated clips, but the are not in the bins they had been before. With FCP7 they will stay there.
It would take to long to explain everything here.Hope that’s a starting point for you.

I do have an ancient EDL app which splits the EDL into EDLs per reel.

You can use my TCR Plus (plugin/app)
This requires two steps. Use the video filter (which behaves more or less like the TC reader which comes with FCP) to do your setup – you only need to do this for one clip. Then export as XML and process the XML with the little TCR Plus application. Re-import the XML and you’re done.
