I´ll dig into the deck menu. However the box gives four tracks to the Mojo…
Have a nice time on location;-)
Looking forward to hear from you next week.

Thank you for Your help so far!

    Hi,

    Just for the info.
I tested this: Logging a clip first, then modify -> Clip settings. Enabled four tracks and then tried to digitize.

Then Final Cut wanted to tell me:
“The connected device does not support the number of audio channels required to capture one or more of the selected clips. Try disabling the Used Logged Clip Settings option in the Batch Capture dialog, or modify the capture settings of your clips by choosing Clip settings from the Modify menu.”

Is there an other DV50 Codec out there? – that uses Firewire?
I know Black Magic has one when using SDI input.

    I’m puzzled,
    Andreas

    Capture DV50 works fine,
Shows in item properties that It has DVCPRO 50 – Pal Codec
    Data rate is 7.1 MB/s
But I cannot see four tracks;-)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  • Hi Ben,

Use T to select the audio track you want, place your play head and your audio destination (A1) to the same track. Grab your clips in the timeline and drag them into your canvas and over to “overwrite with transition”.
You can also do this with a part of a track.
Your default transition is being used so if you want another transition – make the transition the way you want it. Drag it into the Browser and set it do be your default transition.

    Best regards

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your answer, however when i do as you say I cannot choose four audio tracks…

And in the capture preset editor -> Quicktime audio settings, the input can choose between first 2 channels, second 2, and mix four channels.

By the way I’m in Pal but that should not be the issue here I believe;-)

    Do You have another suggestion?

My system runs Fcp 5.1.2 using Quick time 7.1.3 does that have anything to do with me not being able to enable four audio tracks?

Thank You for your expertise Jeremy G;-)

    Cheers,
    Andreas

    Hi Jeremy,

I´m not trying to get multi track out of Final Cut, but digitize 4 audio tracks from tape into Final Cut.
Do you have any ideas for me I am all ears.
What are you referring to regarding to setting up my sequence for four tracks?

    Hi Dave,

Yes, all 4 audio channels are there…
Using DV50 codec in Avid, routing the firewire throug the mojo using the ieee engine and not the DNA engine.

It is sad if a Dell PC with Avid can do something that a Mac with FCP can´t…

    Hi,

    I like stibs pluggins: https://pureandapplied.com.au/plugins.html
    and
    Mattias pluggins; Tmts: https://www.mattias.nu/plugins/

or you can try to turn your sequence settings field dominance to none…

    Hi Wayne,

I should have been more politefull,
    Sorry Greg.
However I believe the Cow is a place to get answers to things you cant figure out yourself (amongst others). Not to place a post without bothering to either do a Goggle/Cow search or even a search within Final Cut itself.

    Best regards, Andreas
