Yes, that’s what I mean. If it’s not recognizing your camera, that’s your problem. What version of Vegas are you using? If it’s 6, someone elase will have to help you as I’m still with 5.0d.Do you have the latest version of Vegas?

Where are you clicking the capture video? You have to open the Vegas capture “FILE-CAPTURE”
Then you should see that Vegas has found your camera. You should be able to control your camera from within Vegas Capture.

There’s also Audacity. Open source and free. It has a noise filter but I haven’t tried it yet.

The Swish products are for creating something in Flash. I did create a title sequence with SwishMax and used it on the timeline in Vegas (I still use V5) and it worked good.
But I think for what you’re asking Swish wouldn’t be what you’re looking for. Boris or Pixelean or one of those other programs would be better.

Guess I gotta put my 2

Very simply. 3 drives. Your current C drive and that’s where all your prograsms reside. 2nd drive label it “capture” or something lik that and the 3rd drive for the Files.
Either csn be a slave to your C drive. Are they IDE or SATA? You should have 2 IDE channels at least.
All you have to do to set them up is format them NTFS if you’re running XP or W2K and just create your directories. Don’t install the opersting system. They’re just file drives.
Now capture to a directory on your Capture drive. You can set a “render” directory on either drive. Doesn’t matter. You can keep all your VEG files in a directory of either C or the Files drive. Output your finished video to the Files drive.

Hi There
Well, I just got finished previewing the DVD. Came out good. Finally. Here’s what I did;
Ripped the DVD and joined the VOB’s into 1 at the same time using DVD Decryptor. Process took about 30 minutes believe it or not. Then I downloaded a trial version of DVD Lab Pro.DVD Lab Pro demuxed the file into an mpa audio and m2v video. Rest was easy following the simple tutorial on MediaChance’s web site.
There was no editing involved with the MPG video. Just added the menus.
Ed’s idea is great becasuse I also need an AVI file to show them how I would have made the DVD had I done the authoring project to begin with.
As far as the inflated file in DVDA, lelt me re-check. I’m sure there’s no double file but then you never know. I may have double clicked somewhere.

DUH! Thanks. I never thought of that! Anyway that was probably going to be my next question. I got to do 2 things for this fellow. First I just wanted to get the opriginal MPG off and add a menu. No editing as I know MPG editing isn’t the best. 2nd I wanted a AVI to show him how I would have done the entire authoring project in the first place.Anyway DVDA is really inflating files again! Darn!;-( The MPEG-2 file was only 3.6gB and in DVDA-2 it shows as 7.6Gb. What gives? This is really burning me up about DVDA-2, and DVDA-1 did it too. No not upgrading to V6/DVDA3. I was told to wait unitil NAB. Hmmmmmmm!

Didn’t work. Did IFO Mode with “none” file splitting in the settings. Still got 5 VOB files and changing the VOB to MPG brought them into DVDA-2. No audio.Back to the drawing board.
