Don’t know about V6 but with my V5 some time ago I had the same problem. I went and defragged my HD’s and after that it worked fine.

Was hoping to meet you at NAB. I’m having all sorts of problems with the Sony Noise Reduction both in Vegas and Sound Forge. Can’t seem to understand how to work it. All the instructions and print I’m getting doesn’t seem to match my version, whatever that is.I got it to work once but didn’t remember what I did! ha! I don’t even know how to see what version I have.
I recently got Audacity and have been looking at Adobe Audition but for me, the audio and noise reduction plugin in Vegas seems to be enough. If I could only learn and remember how to use the Noise Reduction plugin. It’s the same in Sound Forge. ugh!
Met an old friend Fred Ginsburg at the AT booth but we talked about mic’s and lavs. I didn’t have the shotgun close enough to the speaker’s head and the lav the tech provided wasn’t the right one for the instance. I’m going to get an AT 803 for next time. And find another room if possible. 😉
Anyway this was a sample draft going to CCTV for approval of a TV production and I just shot the intro and ending of 2 lessons. So it was mainly content and not quality they were looking for at this time. Next time I’ll shoot it here and use Seruois Magic Ultra 2 for the set.

Neer got to Sony’s booth. At Sonic Fire all they were interested in was pushing the new Smart Sound 4 with “mood mapping” and I wasn’t interested.Got to check Sony’s Cinescore Program though.

This was my first NAB and it was great finally meeting some of the folks behind the websites. The Vegas bash was fun. Audio technica, CustomFlix, Anton Bauer, Sonic Fire’s Smat Sound Pro, Diskmakers and others.
Only complaint I got was trying to find some booths was next to impossible. Numbering system left a lot to be desired. 2 booths, 4 numbers apart was at opposite ends of the Center hall. HA!
Also meeting Ron and Kathlyn was a high point for me.
Had a great time.

No. I had 2 seperate audio recordings. The on-camera VX2000 mic but I also recorded with my Marantz PDM660. The lav was connected to the 660. The Lav was clipped to his tie fist length from his chin and it also picked my voice up from 20 feet away. The lav belonged to the technician and I believe he said it was a ECM55B.I was very surprised because at first I had my AT897 shotgun on a boom pole not 5 feet oer his head and it picked up more from the side than the front.
Thanks, I’ll try the noise gate. Someone else at the Vegas forum suggested I try to get a sample of the echo and use Sony’s noise reduction.

Problem is there was no ambience. Not a pin drop until he started talking. I do have Sony’s noise Reduction. I guess I could try to catch some of the echo just after he stops talking and try it.

I would have never known about this if you hadn’t posted it. I got a Epson R200 that qualifies.I agree about the ink cartridges. I usually let them run until the printer stops printing or there’s no color on the pages. I get a lot more pages (CD/DVD’s) after I get the empty message!

My TV Monitor is connected to a Canopus ADVC-100 analog/digital converter, then via firewire to the computer. No problems. Works fine. However my set-up is NTSC.
If I need to capture analog from a VHS tape, then I connect a VHS machine to the front of the ADVC-100.
Simple procedure.

Hi
I think that’s going back to W98SE days. Ever since W2K you can use larger HD’s. My current editing machine has 2 extra internal SATA 200gb HD’s in adition to C drive. No problems.
