Like Steve Said, have you already rendered it or are you wanting to preview it before rendering? You can enlarge the preview monitor in Vegas and set it to full-best. Also do you have an external monitor? You can preview it from there. But you’ll need a analog digital converter like Grass Valley’s ADVC-110.

If already rendered, again to what? If it’s AVI or WMV double clicking will bring up windows media player. If MOV the QT will play it.

Again give us some more information please.

Hi All
That’s what I sort of figured.

Well, I never had a MAC before. Always PC’s and I even built a few myself over the years for editing. However when OSX 10.5 Leopard came out and the new Intel MAC’s, my interest was really perked. I had been hearing many times how much better the MAC computers were over the PC’s. Lot less problems and breakdowns. So when I decided to replace my Toshiba laptop because I had nothing but problems with it from day 1, I “bit-the-bullet” and got a new MacBook Pro. Of course I can’t run my DV-Rack on it for now. My intent was to use Bootcamp and install XP for Vegas and DV-Rack.

It’s mainly because of the Intel based computer now that I’m even considering a MAC and probably the MAC Pro for my new editing machine. I won’t give up my Vegas though. It’s been part of my life ever since I first started with Vegas 3 I think it was and even before that when I got my first DVD recorder that came with a slimed down version of Movie Studio. Either it came with it or I downloaded a freebie version from Sonic Foundry.

I just really like the MAC os and the software. iWorks, the $79 version of Apple’s answer to MS Office is just great. I did things in Pages in 5 minutes that I could never figure how to do in Word. Plus I can import and export to DOC, XLS, PP and whatever. Also I now have Final Cut Express because I’m collaborating on a project with a fellow who uses FCP.

My Lord! FCE doesn’t even have a stop button! No way to play the timeline and instead of pausing it, to stop it and return the playhead to it’s original position like I can in Vegas. No, I’m not getting rid of MY Vegas. ha ha

I could go on and on but it’s getting way too long. Thanks for the answer about 8.1 Vegas.

You might want to take a look at this new DV-Kitchen that’s advertised right here on the left sidebar right above the tape-online ad.

I’ve watched their video and it seems like a really cool program. I plan to get it.

There’s also a lot of small programs out there that will encode to FLV but you’d probably go broke trying them all. Peronally I use Squeeze at this time.

90 minutes should give you a good DVD in SD. I’m not working with HD so can’t tell you there. Like Mike mentioned above at 2 hours you’re going to need to use a calculator. I put 2’05” on a DVD once with only some minor loss of quality at the very end. It’s been selling for years and never got one returned, but that was really stretching it! 😉

I think you’re way off with the 9,500,000. It’s too high and that may be the cause of your problem.

There’s been may threads here suggesting you never go over 8,000,000. Also personally I use 2,000,000 instead of 192,00 for the low end.

I use Replay AV to grab them and Moyea to convert them to AVI or whatever I want as there’s more choices. One thing though, watch your frame size. They’re 320 x 240 from You Tube so don’t go trying to enlarge them to 720 x 480. You’ll be sorry! ha ha ha

I did a whole bunch fo children’s stuff for my grandkids and tried to put them on a DVD. Most were not too bad but the quality wasn’t really there.

I got a free FLV player in my computer anyway so I just double click them and they play. No need to convert them.

Are you rendering to DVDA-Mpeg2 or just an MPEG-2? That may be your problem.
