    Hey John….

I know you ran into this a while back….

But think PPro has better ProRes support now than it did when you ran into this, doesn’t it?

Ripple edits are pretty standard to any NLE.

Sometimes it’s called Insert Mode vs Overwrite Mode.

. and , are the default keys for them in PPro…

so with source loaded and marked in your source viewer and at least:

    1) your play head parked where you want the edit to occur
    2) your target tracks selected where you want your video and audio to land….

    pow….

    ripple away….

of course extract and lift are the record (seq) side ripple/non ripple removal….

as of the latest build of CC you should just be able to mark in and out on the timeline and then use ; or ‘ (delete and shift+delete) respectively…..

not in front of it at the mo….

but its most certainly in there….

    based on what Shane said….

I suppose you could make a sequence per bin, named as the bin…

then decompose the sequences back to bins in Avid

But you can build comps from Anywhere production ftg?

Save the comps to the production….and then machines with local access can render the comps?

    Hi Todd…

    Thanks for the reply….

So essentially, 1 can log in and create comps from footage that is on the server and exposed to the production.

    What happens at render time?

I don’t know about the Premiere Pro remote rendering, so I don’t know how this would differ.

    Just need some clarification…..

    thanks!

If you the camera doesn’t show up to the desktop to a mounted volume…
that would be your first issue…

once that happens….if you copy the card contents (whole folder structure) to a folder on you computer….

you can use the Media Prose Panel to navigate to that folder on your machine….and PPro should recognize the files natively and allow you to drag them into the project panel and start editing…no conversion necessary…

as far as setting the Program monitor to track source TC…in CS6….without an overlay on the video of some sort…

    don’t think this is doable….
