Hey Dennis…
this seems odd to me….
a media asset lives in a files system….and can be used in multiple projects.
If it’s a lengthy asset, it may be that lot of different users may want to mark up a media file many different ways.
Wouldn’t this be confusing to have the markers stored in the asset or the assets metadata?
I certainly see some value in markers being independent of a given project as well…
Maybe I’m not thinking it thru.

Can you put what is your video bg above the fill in video. and on that bg video use a garbage mask and cut a hole?

that’s the clip mixer(source), not the Audio track mixer…

right click it the project panel? worked for me….
also…you’ll notice you can add file path in the metadata display so it shows as a column in the project panel…. all the subs would obvious relate to the same filename…so then t does become searchable in the project panel as well…
not ideal…but acceptable…

I agree….this should be in the software.
curious…can you reveal from the sub clip in the project panel to the explorer/finder (OS)?

Hey…
don’t know that you can….but depending on what you are tying to do…you may not have to….
once you’ve match from the sequence to the source viewer…
check the menus CLIP>Edit Subclip
you can adjust/remove subclip constraints or convert it to its own master…

A lot of what Prelude can help with is organizing material in the filesystem…

It used to be that you had to set the pref prior to even importing the ftg into the project.
so if you did not start fresh….it may not be working.I think this has changed with subsequent versions.

Start Fresh.
Check you preferences for Scale to Frame size. You should enable this is it’s not.
Import your 4k media into your project.
Make a new 1080 sequence by clicking the new item button and choosing sequence. Then manually choose the preset for your desired sequence settings.
Now when you edit your 4k source to your sequence it should scale itself to fit the 1080 resolution.
