So basically what you are saying:

break the nested effect of Matte and fill on the main timeline

Add the glow to each clip

then re-ALT-Apply the effect to re:NEST the title and Alpha together?

In your case I think it’s that it may not look in sub folders of the current directory.

    Hi Marisu…

I would say your’re right….EXCEPT when a Project file can not find it’s media…the first place it will look is it’s local folder…regardless of derive letter…

so that saves you some of the pain of doing the drive letter shuffle…

    🙂

    Yes…

    this is no problem…

what you should do is create folder for the project..

save your project into that folder…

then in you prefs set all media paths to be “Same as Project”

then when you open the project Premiere will (by defualt) look in it’s local directory as the first place for any media…

This also means that if you plan to import any external files (photos, psd’s, anims, etc) into the project, they should be copied into the project folder first…

If you do this….it should be no problem to pass the project around!

    hope this helps…

    Hey Michael…

I’m not in front of my avid right now…

but if you step into the title and apply onlly to the fill…what if the glow actually expands the shape of image or streaks outward….

If the matte shape doesn’t change accordingly, the shape change would be lost right?

Wouldn’t you have to step in and appy the identical effect to both the fill and the matte to make it key right?

Just trying to see if I understand…

    Thanks,

    Alex

I had a heck of a time with this trying the BCC glows. It urks me to no end that this is so difficult…

  • Hi…

While Avid offers a workflow for their own pipeline from Avid to Avid DVD (by Sonic 😉 )

they don’t offer a workflow to bring chapters automatically into IDVD.

For that you’ll probably have to set the timeline offest to 0:00:00:00

then set some markers for yourself

finally you should be able to enter the chapter marks based on your notes for the Avid timeline.

    Sorry…

If I’m wrong, it would be cool to know about a differnt way…

    Hey Marisu…

I thought about the EDL and AAF combo….BUT even if you batch the AAF…

you can’t attach that to the clip sin the sequence…

EDL and redigitize is really the way to go…

    Hey Curtis…

    Here’s a guess…

what if you went to the Project Manager and created a new trimmed project…

then you created the AAF from that?

    I don’t know about the Sequence though….

    That’s weird..

    does Autopmatic duck help here?

Ship jars of vaseline with each DVD and instruct viewing audiencence to liberally wipe down edges of the monitor until the desired effect is achieved. For audeinces watching on projectors, ship largers jars!
