I’m in the process of editing a wedding video(insert sympathies here). I’ve noticed in quite a few samples of other videos that they use a “hazy” effect.. It’s kinda of a blurry/cloudy appearance to the video. Can anyone point me in the right direction to accomplish this?

    Thanks

Try the numerous Blur & Sharpen Video Effects in Premiere. There should be a few that give the result you desire.

The Magic Bullet Movie Looks plug-in that came with my version of Premiere has a look that I think is called ‘white diffusion’. I use it in weddings alot and think it may be the look you are talking about. I believe that particular ‘look’ came with a set of 5 additional ‘looks’ that were offered as a bonus for registering the Magic Bullet or Premiere Pro software.

in the wedding I am currently editing I made a rectangular mash and softened the edges on the inside so the ceremony appears within a soft white frame, yet the video itself remains sharp.

Are you using a lot of other effects? I’m not.

Ship jars of vaseline with each DVD and instruct viewing audiencence to liberally wipe down edges of the monitor until the desired effect is achieved. For audeinces watching on projectors, ship largers jars!

KIDDING. 😉 Really you do what the other ppl said….

Or you could have a look at FreedomFX or Animattes to achieve that look.
