if he’s uisng Premiere then you will need the Premiere project and you can batch capture it…

    if not..

then you’ll need to try some EDL’s from his system to yours…

as long as you have frame accurate deck control and appropriate reel information…

you ought ot be able to conform his offine edit…

You are looking for a from of secondary color correction.

I think the tools in PPro 2 allow for this.

alternatively, if you duplicate the image over itself and use some form of crop with feather and lumi-key to loosely isolate the teeth …you could then apply a color corrector in top of that to try to tone down the those pearlie whites… Increase the feather to hide the transition between the FG layer and the BKG layer. 🙂

to set up the lumi key you might want to sample the teeth as if you were keying them out….then invert the result to leave the teeth and key the rest.

Yeah…I thinking compression is a horrible culprit when it comes to difference mattes.

It may look the same to you, but mathematically to the cpu…not the same…

    ugh…

Just press play while you are trimming..

    this will preview the edit.

the biggest problem I have with the trim view preview is that the time line cursor doesn’t dynmaically cue to show where plpaback progress is.

without this, it is very hard to use…

September 8, 2006 at 7:09 pm in reply to: Importing MXF Files From a Panasonic P2 Card

    Hi Guys…

Here’s what I got from MOG on this subject:

“According to our tests, if you have installed the DVCPRO codecs that ship with P2Viewer, MXF2AVI should convert successfully those files to AVI format”

Looks like P2 viewer is available here:

    https://panasonic.biz/sav/p2/

The question is what codec you would use as a destination….

Not really sure what you would use that’s Windows Standard….

    Any suggestons?

As an add on, how abut something like Main Concept’s MPEG PRO HD

    https://www.mainconcept.com/site/index.php?id=7850

    hmmm?

As long as they are in a Data Wrapper (AVI or QT) that Premiere understands, I don’t see why not.

August 30, 2006 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Can’t locate title created in Adobe Premiere 2.0

    Hi…

In Premiere 2.0 titles are now saved as part of the Project file as opposed to being seperate files…so if you browse your folders in windows, you won’t see them.

However, if you go back to the previous project…

You can select the titles and export them as Title (.prtl) files and then import them into your new project…

You might also save them as templates in the CG..perhaps that would be useful if you are calling them a lot…

    hope this helps…

    This is really good…

While we are talking about nests…

when creating multi layered fx in a nested sequence….

do you find that you create one nested sequence and build all of your FX on it as a kind of sub master?

Or do you find that you create nests for each indivisual FX stack you create…

    Thx…
