Sorry I was out of the loop, just checked my e-mail…
Anyway, the film was shot 4×3, but my editor decided that adding a 1:66 matte would give it a more “filmic” look. No anamorphic and no 16×9 used.
Rafael, I think the kid’s head is actually that long :-p

Awesome! I had no clue that the tapes were so resilient. I’ve only recorded one pass on the tapes and they’ve been played a few times. Nice to know as I prefer to not throw away.

I guess this would ensure no change in image quality, but the change in audio pitch is very worrysome to me. I guess my other options are Compressor or Nattress Standards Converter…

Yeah, I know about that and I’ve tried playing with the settings but whenever I choose 24p everything becomes very dark.
