Bitrate (bits per second) defines the output size, so you need to set the desired bitrate in the selected render template.

[Size in bytes] = [Bits per second]/8 * [Duration n seconds]

If all your clips have the same frame size, use Edit > Paste Event Attributes command (the details are in the help). Otherwise, Vegasaur can flip your clips with ease.

Sony Vegas can’t create MOV H.264, but it creates MP4 H.264, as John said.

If you want “true” MOV container, you can use ffmpeg (it’s a free command line utility) to convert your MP4 to MOV w/o recompression and any quality loss – fast and easy:

ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vcodec copy -acodec copy video.mov

FYI, if you have Vegasaur – you don’t have to rerender 😉
Its Markers tool can create chapters file from timeline markers with just one click
