Create your own. In a group, create a solid layer (blue). Using the circle mask, mask out the center portion of the blue layer. Adjust the feather of the mask. Adjust the opacity of the layer and voila, a blue vignette.

Are you going to be using firewire for digitization or are you going to use SDI input? That would play a role in which VTR to use.

Sorry. . . No attributes that can be changed for font size. Looks like you would have to change each individual clip.

highlight the clip with the settings you want to add to others, control-click or right-mouse clip, copy. Highlight all the clips you want the attributes added to and control click or right-mouse click, paste attributes. Select the attributes from the list.

I second Tom’s workflow. We have been using XDCAM HD footage for the past year and have found that digitizing like tape to ProRes422 has been the most stable workflow. It is not as quick as transferring the footage via the Import plug-in, but it works great and we have had NO problems.

November 18, 2008 at 4:58 pm in reply to: Undercutting as a business model

Bad for long term business. Whenever undercutting the other guy becomes the mantra, you inevitably hurt yourself. It has a trickle down effect on the business in the area. If he is able to generate significant business by undercutting others, others will have to lower rates to compete. It perpetuates a ruthless cycle that is not good for business.

You are correct! iPhoto is the quickest way to create a basic slideshow using the Ken Burns Effect. It is automatic and smooth. You can’t beat it. I always use iPhoto when I want to do a basic slideshow. If I want to create something a bit higher quality with more moves and 3D, I use Motion.

[Jennifer Arani] “Is there any way to drop 20+ photos on ONE track without using the Iphoto step?”

Not quite sure what you mean here. Are you wanting to have 20 photos in motion project or in a single group? To animate? Not clear what you are looking to do.

[Jennifer Arani] “can I add a drop zone like the ones in the templates?”

To add a dropzone, click Object>New Dropzone.

How are you checking to ensure the line 21 is not captured? What makes you certain it’s not there?
