[Stefan Buhrmester] “I’m unable to quicklook motion files in the finder after replacing Motion 4 with Motion 5. Is that an issue on my side? Is it working for you?

Also: WTF APPLE? Where is send-to-motion and .motn clip import in FCPX???”

I am able to quicklook motion files in Finder after installing Motion 5 – I do have Motion 4 on the same Machine though, no idea if that is the difference

Just to try out your theory question I have Motion 5 installed on a MacBook Pro and a MacPro – both downloaded with the same Apple ID etc.

Just opened both up at the same time and edited at the same time, no conflicts or messages.

In real life my brain can’t work on both machines at the same time but thought I would try out your theory.

No idea about 5 mind you and any restrictions on other things.

  • The lag happens “every time” I load Motion 5 – the interface appears super pronto but the beachball appears after a second or so or if you click the open button before that 1 second. Then I get the 25-26 second wait which is a pity

Thanks Edward, can’t wait – I will have to stop watching those tutorials as I am itching to get started.

Thanks, I do own PI3 already and am just checking before I make the upgrade which will be late September/October when my projects allow me to do so. I will report any problems as/when/if they happen.

    Thanks again

John, I don’t think there is any limitations on the “trial” packages provided you are within the trial period.
