  • I reset background processing and had to restart Mac Pro but it then worked as normal.

Thought about that one too Mike but breaking apart the compound is by far the quickest “Shift+cmd+G” then “Option+G” when done – walk in the park 🙂
    Thanks for replying

Yes, fully understand and having only used it a couple of months I am certainly flexible It is only when you actually edit in “anger” so to speak that you come across these odd things. I am sure the CC route will be more beneficial than otherwise overall. Really like it and am getting quicker and quicker – unfortunately I still do 5 forward and 3 back but it will improve 🙂

    Thanks

Thanks Simon, that is exactly what Tom Wolsky suggested on the Apple site – still a weird scenario though!

Stephen, I totally agree with you for obvious reasons but I was just showing a work around until hopefully the round-tripping is brought back.

I will “fourth” that! Is that a real word?

I have not jumped on the FCP X bandwagon just yet and will leave it for a while till it gets the tender attention that it needs to make it a workable editing platform (for me). I am more than happy with FCP 7.

Motion 5 at £29.99 (UK) is a steal and you can use it alongside Motion 4 (see Apples site https://support.apple.com/kb/HT4722?viewlocale=en_US bottom section for tips on doing so).

For me so far it seems quicker but more testing needed. The advantage is I can get used to the new interface for the price of a few pizzas and just export as a movie and drop into FCP 7.

There are 1349 items in the library, I don’t know exactly which one you are after.

If you don’t have 13489 check that you have downloaded Motion 5 Content here:

  • I get the delay even if I do not reboot my Mac, just close down Motion 5.

Is it designed to be available straight away or is the delay normal?

    Anyone know?

Networked – on a wired network at the moment.

  • Just tried on my Mac Pro and The lag happens “every time” I load Motion 5 there too so it is not just the MacBook Pro

Added: – it is a bit quicker mind you to allow you to open up a project etc.
