What do you mean your stage moves?

Can you post an image that shows the problem?

I’ve fixed this problem. Can you please email me at support at wondertouch dot com and I’ll get you setup with a beta version so you can verify the fix for me?

Yes, definitely. It should be released around the end of January. It’s a free update for everybody who owns pIAE already.

November 20, 2010 at 7:59 pm in reply to: how do I increase the duration of an effect?

It depends on the exact emitter.

In the case of “transport 03”:

    1) select the emitter (topmost) “number” property in the hierarchy

    2) look at the graph window. Move the right 2 data points (where number steps down to 0) to the right to whatever frame you need it to be.

    Done.

You don’t have pIRender if you’re using SE.

If “Save Alpha” is greyed out, then you haven’t chosen a format that supports alpha. Use PNG, TGA for images, or if you need AVI download and install HuffYUV or Lagarith codecs.

Use the “reset default settings” option in the Start – particleIllusion menu.

If that doesn’t fix it, restart your computer and try again.

It’s got nothing to do with the 6-month license, but with the version you have. Most people have 3.0.4.1 as the latest version (with a 3.0.4.2 update coming sometime soon). The Sony Promo people have 3.0.5.x, and that’s the version with the problem. Eventually everybody will be updated to 3.0.5.x, but not yet.

Once 3.0.4.2 is released, there will be no functional difference between it and 3.0.5.x — the only difference is the licensing (activation).

I’ve duplicated the problem, but no solution yet. I’m working on it though. The interesting thing is that the shape import seems to be the only area where this error occurs. As you said, you can load it as background image, and I’ve also tried other functions that load images and they work.

I don’t have a workaround either. Hope to have it solved this afternoon.

Since you’re the first one to ask about this in a couple of years (or more), I wouldn’t consider it a FAQ. =)

Yes. I would also recommend making copies (backups) of your libraries once in a while anyway, as the automatic backups may get overwritten if you edit libraries a lot.

Personally I don’t edit libraries too much — I edit emitters on the stage, then add them to a library. I don’t typically change emitters after they’re in libraries, but I can see why you’d want to.

On a related note, the “library backups” folder can get pretty large, as it keeps 10 (or however many you specify) copies of every library you edit. You may want to clean this folder out once in a while.

Also, there may be some libraries in there that have strange names, like 107cancel35.il3_xxxxx.bak or 228cancel75.il3_xxxxx.bak. You can delete those at any time.
