Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Does this happen with every project, or only specific ones? Try different stage sizes too.

It may be motion blur settings, or video driver issues. Also make sure that you leave particleIllusion in the foreground — don’t move another window in front of it (some video drivers don’t handle that well).

I’d suggest trying software rendering, but I know that some combinations of motion blur and alpha channel may cause problems with software rendering.

When you’re asking for a specific effect, it’s really best to provide some links to an image or movie of the effect you want, as many people may not be familiar with the character you’re talking about — I’m not.

(Hey, a question about an effect from a TV show and it’s not “Charmed”!)

There’s no reason that the saved frames would be different if you chose PNG or AVI. The only difference is that with PNG you could have “save alpha” checked, which would could mask out part of your background images.

So uncheck that option, or make sure you view the PNGs without the alpha channel.

[stevie003497] “CANNOT load them in as a background, as they are all grayed-out.”

Do you mean the filenames are greyed out so you can’t choose them? Or something else?

February 23, 2007 at 1:10 pm in reply to: Problem with text and anitaliasing

Once you create an image for import into pIllusion as a particle shape, there is nothing special about the content — pIllusion doesn’t “know” what the image contains. So there’s nothing special about text images.

You don’t specify at what point you’re seeing the aliased (jagged) image — so I can only guess what’s going on.

It the text is white on black, then import at “regular” not “full-color”, and uncheck the “use existing image transparency”.

Note that if you import as 512 x 128 and try using that large shape image for small particles, you will probably not get nice-looking text.

If this doesn’t help, please provide more details, screengrabs, or send a zipped project file that shows the problem to wondertouch support.

February 22, 2007 at 6:09 pm in reply to: reverse blockers ( PLEASE REPLY)

Why don’t you just use multiple blockers? 4 rectangular blockers can easily be placed so that a “hole” is left in the middle.

I’m not sure if I understand, but try “Layer Offset”? Or just move the emitter manually?

    Please read through the docs!

I really don’t know what “they don’t have good quality” means.

Have you tried rebooting? Have you tried downloading the emitter libraries again? Have you tried running with software rendering?

Find “default.il3” in the “Emitter Libraries” folder using Windows explorer. R-click on that file and select “properties”. Make sure that “Read-Only” is not checked.

Also, switch your desktop to 24 or 32 bit color. You’re currently set to 16-bit color, which results in wrong emitter thumbnail images (and blue around the folder images).
