When I get CMYK files they won’t even load.

(Just got saddled with a bunch of them from a client who came by way of a print shop.)

For the type of content you describe and are exporting, I’ve had quite serviceable results at 1280×720 with a 3 meg data rate. That would reduce your file size by quite a bit.

That, I suspect, was from the “core parking” issues AME had. That seems to have resolved itself with recent PPro/AME updates.

At least it has here, for me.

    That makes sense.

I’m not sure what to tell you at this point.

When you play the timeline is the banding there during the fade up?

If you output at “match sequence settings” is the banding there?

In the most extreme scenario, is substitution of a different shot possible within your narrative? One that would not have the sky so prominent, maybe?

Another thought, in the form of a question: What are you outputting and what are your settings? (File type, resolution, data rate, etc.)

Another issue I can see is that with the images as dark as they are there is very little dynamic range available for depiction of any gradient in the sky. While I’m sure it’s called for in the narrative you’re really limiting yourself into a corner with how little of the available palette that’s being used in those images.

That sort of banding is usually the result of significant bitrate reduction.

It’s not just the codec, it’s the data rate.

And yes, adding just a touch of noise might help smooth things back out, just don’t step on it too hard in the encoding/output!

I can second at least some of the FS7 comments/recommendations.

I had my hands on one for some demo footage and the thing is quite nice. The 4K looks good, and the 180 fps slow motion at 1080P is absolutely gorgeous.

Memory cards are costly, though not unduly so, considering what Panasonic has charged for P2 cards.

How many of the curved gradients do you need?

I’d make that part on another, transparent layer over the lightly vignetted background.

Then stack the layer with the curved grad on another track above it (it would work the same in PPro) and repeat as needed.

If this is for ongoing use I’d try to set something up as a seamless loop and stash it in an “elements” directory.
