Ron, did you ever get to the bottom of this?

Thanks Blast – nothing at the moment then. Hmmmm, any suggestions for the cheapest/smallest sdi enabled ‘SD capture only’ station that I could configure.

These two Prem projects will need to be transportable on external drives with a mobile (laptop) editor available. I was hoping to get away with a single system.

Thanks syphrum I did see both of those posts. It’s getting the most out of the GPU that concerns me most I suppose. Do you know of a ‘recommended’ list for this?

    What about PCIe on laptops?

I’m a Liquid and FCP editor and the last Prem I used was 6.5 but I’m planning this for a shared project with a few people who are reasonably Prem proficient.

    Thanks so much guys.

It’s obviously possible, I’ll just need to be aware of the drive letter.

One other point Aanarav, can you recommend the best laptop, or at least exactly what to look for in the specs for a successful Prem system. Although this project will be majored by the group there are one or two others that will be asked to contribute, and it would be very convenient if we could take the edit to them for this.

    Kindest regards

Excellent, this does certainly help. Thanks very much Alex – it appears even easier than FCP, where the scratch disk and other seetings are ‘system’ not project settings

Full steam ahead then building a Prem system.

best option is wmv (compared with the quality of mpg1) but you’ll need Flip4Mac

Sounds like you’ve got to turn off Isoline editing.

What about displaying Timeline TC that’s the one the client needs to see.

    Also non DV material.

How are you making your m2vs Roddy, I had this issue with some DV and uncomm 10 bit recently.

Rendering them out via QT conversion in FCP4.5 solved the issue.
