This is very good news, shame you couldn’t have told us sooner, some of us have already initiated other plans.

All we have to do now is hope for continued Apple FW support.

The writing was on the wall for IoHD the day the specs for FCPX were released I guess.

It would have been curteous of AJA to tell it’s users via this board exactly what the implications were/are.

    Richard,

I just tried a test changing the avi to mp4 of some clips from my D3s to see if PProCS5 preferred them. They won’t open in PPro even though the avis do.

I didn’t even get to trust the website after my AV gave me this warning:

    This site is: Harmful

You should avoid visiting this web site
F-Secure has found evidence of harmful behaviour on this web site. To the best of our knowledge, it is not safe to visit this web site

Arrr, I see Craig, makes sense – thanks for the anwser. I guerss that’s what the spec means when it talks about ‘crop mode’ for video. In this mode I guess it’s only using the central 1920×1080 of it’s sensor.

As a complete ignoramous here will somebody describe and explain line skipping to me. I have no experience of editing DSLR material.

Thanks Chris, yes I know that.

It’s when you swap projects with others and some catured clips are offline, it would be nice to know a little more than the name of the clip.

Agreed, well as Legacy FCP did anyway, but that’s not my point. There is currently no nle, with any future anyway, that it supports and no communication from AJA about further compatibility.

A big thank you to all. I’ve learnt a great deal from this thread. Many thanks to all who have taken the time to post.
Let’s hope that interlace and 4:3 die sooner rather than later.

Don’t want to hijack this forum into an AE one but would you tell me briefly how I could get my SD 50i to 25p in AE Jeremy.

    Cheers Alan
