We currently have a system running on a 3rd generation i3 processor with limited issues. We use it mainly to dub off material to tape decks.

With that said I don’t know if I would be doing any intense editing on it.

  • Make sure your BM driver is loaded for the comm port.

  • Your BM card should have a comm port to it…if so use that.

You’ll need to make sure the person doing the intro gives a toss (“…and let’s go to Fulana del Tal with more with more on this story”) otherwise it will seem like the segement os coming out of nowhere.

    Dean,

Although your problem seems to be somewhat different from mind, today I loaded one of my shows to dub to tape and I kept getting a “serious error” from Adobe PPro-2 coming out of black and back to video. Strange, this never happened with this same show a month ago when I dubbed it onto tape using an older driver set. The only thing I can conclude is there’s a bug (at least in my system) in respect to the new 6.1.1 drivers for Multibrdge. Again, Dean I know your problem is different from mine, still it involves the same driver set.

Your best bet would be to build your own system. With the savings from that you could by something like a Cool Gear outboard box, add several SATA II HD’s in a RAID 0 format array. This would give you a faster drives to work off of and plenty of storage. Plus, spend your money on memory, graphics (FX-1300 and/or FX-1400). I’m seen a D930 w/mobo for around 5-bills the other day at Fry’s. Check out Newegg for individual parts…all in all building a system yourself is much cheaper and sometimes more rewarding.

    Vince,

I’ve been using a Silcon Image 3124-2 Multiport host board with two outboard boxes (inside a Silcon Image 3726 chip) with 4 WD SATA II 250G in each, read speeds are about 214-220 with write speeds averaging about the same. This is a fairly inexpensive way of moving to an outboard raid system without having to drop some big bucks.

    Vince,

You may want to look at a multiport option. I’ve got four ports, each capable of handling 5 drives per. Mine includes SATA II captability in RAID 0, 1, 5, 10.

    Tim,

I didn’t know that “CineForm” was reqiured ti work with PPro 2.0 and Aja’s Xena card. Is there something I’m missing?
